Contest – Five Years of Fun in The Spiral!
Greetings and Salutations! So, Ditto has been blogging about his adventures in The Spiral for over five whole years now!! That’s pretty awesome, isn’t it? Ditto has had five years of wizards and pirates and fun adventures, and now it’s time to celebrate with an all new contest!! Looking back at my time in The Spiral there are so many awesome memories, and I want you to share your favorite memories with me! What’s the best thing you’ve done in The Spiral, what’s your favorite memory? Is it a boss fight with friends? Decorating your first house? Finding a rare item? An epic PVP battle? Tell me what your favorite Spiral memory is – in either Wizard101 or Pirate 101 – and you might win an awesome prize!!
So what can you win? I’ve got some great Pirate101 prizes!
Ditto’s Mega Epic Boss Battle! Mazen Stinger Bee in Wizard101
In Azteca, Ditto is working with the shaman Onyx Rain-Sun to defeat the dreaded Umbra Queen! Ditto has to get through a magical barrier, and – of course – needs to collect special ingredients so that Onyx Rain-Sun can make some magical mojo to get Ditto through the barrier thingy. Enter Mazen Stinger Bee, the fiercest of the seed-thieves, who has in hew possession ‘The Jar of Five Suns’, a power magical vessel that Onyx needs to complete her spell. All Ditto has to do is defeat Mazen – sounds simple right? Not an end boss, and she doesn’t even cheat… but somehow this battle lasted over 45 MINUTES!
Ditto’s ‘Make Your Own Wand’ Tutorial!!
Hi all! So, this is Ditto’s very first ever tutorial post, showing folks how Miss Narrator and I made these really fun Wizard101 – style wands! They don’t take too long to make, and they’re really inexpensive, so they’re a really fun project for a rainy afternoon! For this tutorial we made a Life School wand and a Storm School wand – here they are finished, and below I’ll try to give you all the details you need to try and make your own!
Ditto Battles Seed Thief Minions, and let’s talk about Sun Serpent #wizard101
Ditto is battling some Seed Thief Minions to recover stolen amulets for the Shaman – you know, typical stuff for a Tuesday. It’s a pretty cool fight – I drop some serious damage on these guys!!!
I did want to talk about Sun Serpent – I just got it the other day and so far I’m not sure I’m into it yet… It does a pretty good hit on the main target, follow on hits to other targets aren’t that good, even boosted. It’s not a heavy enough hit to really impact an Azteca boss with 15-20K health, and the side hits don’t really do enough damage to minions, so I’m not sure about it yet… I’m still playing around with it, getting the hang of things – anyone with any good pointers?
Ditto is Back in Azteca! Wizard101
After way too long offline, Ditto is back in Wizard101! Yes, Ditto had a cold for a while and didn’t have a voice, so couldn’t really record videos. Well, I’m back and we’re trekking through Azteca, doing quests on the Zultan docks!! Lots more to come, too – Carl the camera-bear and I did a lot of recording, including a massing 45 minutes boss fight!!
Ditto Investigates Copper Wing Guards in Azteca
Ditto is still battling the copper tops to see if they have been corrupted by the dreaded Umbra Queen! These are pretty cool fights – battling fire enemies is a challenge but it keeps me on my toes!
Gameplay Video – Ditto Plays HearthStone Ranked Play
So Ditto has been playing the Blizzard card game ‘HearthStone’ more lately – it’s a really fun game and you can play a round in ten to twenty minutes if you don’t have a long time for gaming, which is handy.
I’ve been playing my Mage deck lately in ranked play and have made it to rank 18 – that’s not really high, true, but it’s challenging at this level and I’m pretty happy with how it’s going.
This battle is pretty good and shows my deck playing well – I’ll admit, it only plays this well every two to three games… I still need to tweak it a bit.
Ditto Battles Copper Wing Guards in Azteca
For Ditto to uncover what’s going on, Ditto has to defeat some Copper Wing Guards on the Zultun docs to determine if they are the minions of the Umbra Queen!
Of course the guards are Rank 12 Elite fire, which makes them a real pain for me – fire prisms help quite a bit, but make the fights take a bit longer.
Ditto Finishes some Azteca Quests in Wizard101
So Ditto has this carefully crafted plan to store up some completed quests for his video recordings, and then when it was time to record, awesomeness would flow. Well, as you can see, that was a pretty epic failure, as the completed quests don’t actually take up much time or continue on to other cool stuff… so I just pad this one out for time…
Announcing the ‘Fansite Festival’!!! #Wizard101 #Pirate101
Ditto is very happy to announce that he is taking part in a wonderful, fun event this year, the ‘Fansite Festival‘, which is a great community event hosted by a whole bunch of Wizard101 and Pirate101 fanstites! The festival isn’t for a while (It’s currently scheduled or April) but it’s never too early to start getting excited about a fun event with fans and friends!!
Here it is – Ditto’s ‘Six Days of Whatever’ winner #6!!
Well, it has certainly been six days of ‘Whatever‘, plus kittens! And here it is, the final completely random winner of the completely random prize of 5,000 crowns – Wizard Grace, also known as Pirate Stubborn Isabele Stevensson! Congratulations to all the winners – and here is your final kitten…
Ditto’s ‘6 Days of Whatever’ Holiday Contest!!!
Here it is, Ditto’s amazing holiday contest, ‘Six Days of Whatever‘! What is it? It’s six days of totally random prize giveaways, Starting tomorrow, Monday, December 15th!
Ditto heads to Marleybone on the way to Azteca in Wizard101
After talking with Professor Drake, Ditto heads to Marleybone to touch a mysterious artifact – and gets transported to an observatory, gets in a fight with bug monsters, talks to a flying snake, finds a lost civilization, and gets the key to Azteca… I think that pretty much does it.

Leaving Avalon – The Battle with Pendragon
So I have finally conquered the realm of Avalon!! And Ditto was looking back at when we actually started this epic journey, thinking I’ve been working my way through Avalon for a few months… well, it’s been over a YEAR since I first got the key to Avalon! Now I did complete Wintertusk and did a lot of other stuff in that time, but wow, that took a LOT longer than I thought it would…
So anyway, the final battle of Avalon is with the dreaded Pendragon, who is, of course, a dragon. I wasn’t able to record it on video, as I did it over the Thanksgiving holidays and there were a lot of people in the house, but I did take some cool screen shots!!
- Defeating Pendragon!
- Black and White Dragons!
- The King is Saved!
- Ditto the Hero!
- Huzzah!
I would definitely like to thank Brandon Owlsword, who helped me through this epic dungeon – he was great, I never could have made it through without him!
Ditto faces down The House of Scales!
So Ditto wanted to check out the new ‘Four Dungeons’ experience and went to talk to my buddy Alhazred in Krokotopia to see about the problems they were having in the ‘House of Scales’… WOW what a dungeon, I definitely wasn’t expecting that! I don’t have a detailed write up guide or anything, and I wasn’t recording video as I wasn’t sure what to expect, but it was a long, intense, and really fun experience. I can say that all the bosses cheat, and that was annoying, definitely. One of the bosses took my Rain of Fire damage over time spell and cast it back on me – that was mean, that’s for sure. So much cheating, gah!
The story is one of daring heroism, pitting all my considerable Pyromancer’s skills against a horde of some kind of lizard monster things, to save the souls of the poor little manders! The final boss was Ammit the Devourer, who was creating an army out of the mander souls – it was pretty scary!
I had some help at first, a pick-up group of two others, but they left pretty early on and I wanted to keep going, so I’ll admit – I spent a bit more than I expected to on henchmen to get through this one! It was worth it though – the dungeon is very challenging and the storyline is good – but I’d say if you want to go through this definitely bring friends, there are some seriously tough battles…
Ditto explores the Evergreen Bundle in Wizard101
Ditto got himself an early holiday gift – the Evergreen Bundle! This is a great holidayish bundle – I say holiday’ish’ because while it’s not an out and out ‘holiday’ theme, like with snowmen and reindeer and the like, it does have a fun holiday vibe.
The Evergreen Armor has a great look to it, and I do love the Celestial Wolf pet – it’s a really nice looking mount and has great animations! I say the armor looks nice, and it really does, but the stats on the level 80 set I got weren’t quite as good as the Bazaar set I just put together, but they’re still a decent set of armor with good buffs and nice cards attached. I think the pet is cute too, but nothing will ever replace my Madame Jasmine!
- Spirit of the Forest Pet in the Botanical Gardens
- In the Botanical Gazebo
- What’s the crack in the wall?
- Feed me Seymour, I’m Starvin’
- Such a handsome mount!
- Riding through the wooded glade…
Ditto is Back with a tale of woe, plus Contest Winners!!
So, a funny thing happened this past weekend. And by ‘funny’ I mean ‘really really annoying and inconvenient’ – we had a storm, and a lightening strike, and a power surge, and our cable modem went ‘bzzzt’ and that was pretty much that. Of course, because of our service contract thingy we had to get a new modem thingy shipped, so we had no modem thingy and no internet all week, until today when it came in.
Now, to understand how very annoying and inconvenient, not only was Ditto unable to post to his bloggy thingy or make any new videos, but Ditto and friends do not have cable – we ‘cut the cord’ as they say – so all of our TV and various entertainment, except for a couple ‘Muppet Show’ DVD box sets, requires our internet connection. This week has been… long.
So that’s a long way of saying it is GREAT to be back, and Ditto can FINALLY announce the winners of Ditto’s Spooky Story contest!! Yay!!!

Congratulations to all the winners, thanks for your patience, and Happy Halloween everyone!!! Now, to play some Wizard101!
Ditto is in the Avalon Catacombs in Wizard101!
Ditto is deep in the catacombs of Avalon, fighting goblins to find the Catacombs key for the Lady of the Lake! Ditto hasn’t played Wizard101 much lately so this is supposed to be a ‘get back into it slowly’ kind of fight, but it doesn’t really work out that way, naturally… these storm enemies toss out some big guns early on!! As part of his new strategy, Ditto is starting to rely on shields more than he did before, that’s for sure.
Contest – Spooky Wizard101 Stories with Ditto!
It’s October, which is Ditto’s FAVORITE time of year – it’s a favorite or all monsters really! And of course, it’s a GREAT time of year in Wizard101 – they have so many fun Halloween themed events, with Spooky Bob’s quests, great costumes, and the Halloween-themed nightmare packs including the brand-new ‘Harrowing Nightmare Pack’! It is also a great time for Halloween contests, and Ditto has a fun one! Ditto loves spooky stories, and wants to hear some of your story ideas, but with a Wizard101 twist. Like, instead of ‘The Headless Horseman’ it could be ‘The Headless Gobbler’, or instead of ‘Frankenstein’ maybe ‘Dworgynstein’ – you get the idea.
So send me your Wizard101 ‘Spooky Story’ title and a brief sentence of what the story is about! Send it to dittocontest@gmail.com with the subject ‘Spooky Story’, and please make sure you include your wizard name! The contest runs from now until Midnight EST on Saturday, October 25th. Winners will be announces on Sunday October 26th.
Hast Thou Slain The Jabberwock? Wizard101 Boss Fight!
In Avalon there is a quest series, based on the Lewis Carol poem ‘Jabberwocky‘, and the highlight of this quest series is a boss fight with the dreaded Jabberwock himself – a cheating, 25,000 health, fire school boss monster. It’s a crazy fight, to be sure, and I tried it four times in varying ways before I finally got some proper help. Today, Christina LionRider and Hunter BlueRider joined me and together, after a VERY long time, we took out the mighty beast!
Weekend Wizard101 quest fun – Clearing the Cobwebs!
So in celebration of Wizard101’s Sixth birthday, I have been playing a lot more recently, and as I was looking for quests to do on Friday I realized that I had between four and five pages of ‘old’ quests like the Stone Roses in Dragonspyre, Zafarian history books quest, and even the Marleybone ‘Spiral Key’ tower (I didn’t have to do that one to get into Celestia) that I hadn’t yet finished. It became my mission to clear every single non-Avalon quest out there, and I got really close! I think all I have left is one Trogg in Wintertusk and one fish (Bearracuda) in Grizzleheim, and that’s it – the rest are all Avalon!
It was actually a lot of fun going back to do the older quests – some of them were still pretty challenging, and it was nice to revisit some of the old haunts…. Celestia was especially nice – I still think the design there is really beautiful, and I love the story and the overall quest layout. It was fun going toe to toe with Stellar Defenders and evil fish people again!
So that’s it – a fun little diversion before the big push to finish Avalon, a nice time during the rainier parts of the holiday weekend.
Ditto’s Wizard101 Fishy Contest Winners!!
Here they are, the winners to Ditto’s ‘Fishing with Ditto’ contest! There were a TON of fun, creative entries – I love how talented all my fans are, and this contest was so much fun to judge! So anyway – here are the winning entries! I’m showing the entries for the top six – the First Place and Second place winners, and then listing the names of the randomly drawn runners-up.
Ditto goes Fishing in Wizard101
Ditto finally does a new Wizard101 Gameplay video!!! To go with his fun fishing contest, Ditto does a video about the new fishing system in Wizard101. He catches a couple fish, then tries to put fish in a fishtank in his house – that does not go well for some reason… hmmmm
I DID figure out the whole ‘fish in the fishtank’ issue – I probably should have looked into that before the video, but that’s OK. To get a fish in the fishtank you have to match the fish with the fishtank; the fish in your inventory will actually say ‘This fish requires XYZ fishtank when you mouse over the little fishtank icon on the fish’s picture.
Here’s how you figure out what fishtank you need:
Fishing with Ditto – Create a Fish contest in Wizard101!!
Now that Ditto has wrapped up ‘Spiral Wars’ (and has taken a short break from Pirate101) it’s time for a great new Wizard101 contest!! The newest thing in Wizard101 is, of course, fishing, and is it fun!! Find a nice quiet stretch of water, cast a spell, and try to land a whopper! To celebrate this fun new pastime, Ditto has an all new contest with great fishing related prizes! What can you win? Check this out!!!
