Happy Friday – Time for more Carl Jokes…

It’s that time again, time for my old buddy Carl the Camera-Bear to tell a few jokes…

The Jokes:

Q: Where should a 1000 pound Gobbler go?   A:  On a diet!

Q: Why do Dragons sleep all day?   A: So they can fight nights!

Good luck with the House-A-Palooza contests!!

An unnecessary change of location…

So after defeating about a hundred spiders for little miss ‘I can’t be disturbed’, she decides that she STILL can’t work in her shop, and we need to relocate to a tower in the middle of the spider-infested Crystal Grove.  Ah well – it’s not too far to travel.  Of course once we get there, I have to help her get more equipment so she can work, and what’s the FIRST thing I need to get for her?  (more…)

Ditto finds a jewelcrafter stuck in a jewel…

So I was wandering around DragonSpyre, looking for a crystal headpiece for my snazzy Dragon Rider’s staff, when I came across Milaka Jewlbender, a jeweler and crystal crafter, who happened to be trapped in an actual bock of crystal.  This did not instill a lot of confidence in her skills-  kind of like finding out your mechanic was late for work because his car broke down…  Anyway, since she was the only person around who might be able to help me, I helped her out of her predicament, and in return she… sent me to kill crystal spiders…  Sigh. The Path to Malistaire – Creepy Prospector guy…

Along the path to the dreaded Malistaire, I have met many strange and interesting beings.  Most have wanted to eat me, of course, but there are some who are happy to help me out – though usually for a price.  In searching for the perfect crystal head to my Dragon Rider’s staff, I came across a person I will simply call ‘Creepy prospector guy’, who was camping in the Crystal Grove in the middle of a bunch of spiders.  Of course he wants me to find HIS pet spider… you know how I am about spiders so… creepy guy!!

Ditto’s House-A-Palooza contest!

The contest has ended as of 12:01am PST on August 22nd, 2011.  All winners have been notified by email.

Thank you!

Happy Friday – Carl is Back!

Carl is back and today I help him with some knock knock jokes.  Sure, he really doesn’t fully understand the concept of knock-knock jokes, but he tries…

Ditto hangs out with Ashley

SO I’ve finally gotten all the pieces of the Dragon Riders’ Staff – you know, they could have made that a little easier to get if it’s so important for saving the Spiral – I’m just sayin’…  I return to Dragonspyre and talk to Ashley the fire tree, who tells me I’m not done yet… yes, now I need to find some special crystal in a grove full of my dreaded arch-enemy, the crystal ice spiders… And once again – if this staff is so critically important to saving the whole world, why wouldn’t they make it a little easier to get?  Maybe just give it to Headmaster Ambrose for safe keeping, that way if someone needed it…. oh, never mind.

Weekly Video Bloggy Thingy – Technical Difficulties

So for the past week,we’ve been having some technical difficulties here at Dittomonster.com, so I haven’t been posting much or even doing much on Twitter.  I’m happy to say that the technical issues have mostly been resolved, and I’ll be posting game videos and Carl videos again soon, probably tomorrow, and I’ll start walking that final path to Malistare… and infamy!!

Ditto’s Video Bloggy Thingy August 3rd

So here is my weekly video bloggy thingy for this week – I haven’t been online too much, but I did finish the ‘Onyx Chests’ quest for Dragonspyre and made it one step closer to facing the dread Malistaire!!  The transcript for this video is below, as well…

Transcript:

Twitter – 474 followers!  I’m almsot at 500 followers, which is a big deal for me!  I can’t wait until I hit 500, that will be awesome!

I haven’t been online much in the last week or so – the weather has been beautiful and I have been out enjoying it a lot, so that’s why there are not many videos lately.  I’ve been swimming and biking and we had a big cookout this weekend – Gardein ‘ultimate meatless burgers’ are the best vegan bugers I’ve ever had, by the way.  It was rainy yesterday and looks cloudy already today, so I’ll have more videos up soon, don’t worry.

As far as Wizard 101, what play time I have had lately has been focused on the Onyx Chests quest – I think this was a fun re-use of the old quest areas, and it was lots of fun to go through Krokotopia – still my favorite – with a level 48 Digby armed with fire dragon.  Not many bosses or fights in the game can last long against that spell – and it’s AOE, so that’s awesome.

So I was able to finish the onyx chests quest – which I didn’t film, because I’ve filmed all those fights before – and I’m ready to continue my way into Dragonspyre – I don’t think there’s too much left, so we really are getting close to Malistaire! I’ve got big plans for that fight, me getting very excited!

Finally, tonight is another edition of Ravenwood Radio, including an all new Daring Adventures of Ditto!  I can’t wait – I’ll be there even though it’s at the same time as ‘Shark Week’ – that’s just the best thing on TV right now, isn’t it?  I loves me so shark week!

Anyway, remember to play safe, and I’ll see you in the spiral!

Happy Friday – Carl tells Cinderella jokes…

It’s been a busy week for me, not much posting, but Carl is here and he got a special request from a friend to tell some jokes about Cinderella – so here they are!  Enjoy, and Happy Friday!

The Return to Crab Alley – The Big Finish!

So here it is, the big finale for ‘Return to Crab Alley’!  I didn’t get the final fight with Amadeo, we had technical issues (Carl!) and honestly, that fight only lasted two turns.  Amadeo was big, but he wasn’t all that tough… (more…)

Ditto’s Adventures Continue in Crab Alley…

So Ditto has found King Thermidor and unlocked to Storm Chamber!  He is finally getting to the bottom of the whole mystery…  Whatever shall he find deep in the depths of the, uh… deepness…

Ditto defeats Doctor Zigmund – Meteor Strike!

Ditto finds the Storm Batteries.

Ditto fixes the storm batteries!

The Destiny Project: Level 20

As a quick recap; a while ago I was inspired by The Friendly Necromancer and others to start a Necromancer named Destiny Hexcrafter, sister to my Pyromancer Digby Hexcrafter, who I am playing with only starter equipment. This means only starter robes, starter wand, starter deck, and no additional equipment or mount. It’s a fun and exciting challenge, and I’ve really been having fun!

This week I made level 20 with Destiny – I felt this was a pretty significant milestone, and worth a good article about my progress and the tings I’ve learned along the way.

Destint in Krokotopia

Destiny under the Krokosphinx

First – the numbers. At level 20, Destiny has 915 health, 56 mana, 7 Training points, and just over 30,000 gold after my bazaar trip (not having anything to spend money on is nice – just wish I could transfer it to Digby 🙂 )

While in earlier levels it was my mana that seemed really low and troublesome, at level 20 my mana isn’t as bad as my heatlh. With some of the duels I’m in, 900 health is gone in two or three good rank 4 hits. Storm bosses are exceedingly problematic now – I cringe with every storm shark that comes after me!

One interesting thing that’s both a blessing and a curse is deck size. With the starter deck I almost always have the cards I need for my chosen strategy, which is great. On the downside, my cards go FAST in a boss fight. I’ve won more than one duel with only one or two cards left, not counting treasure cards. I’m thinking that I should keep one or two reshuffles in my treasure cards, just in case.

My current strategy is standard necromancer tactics – death trap, curse, death blade, and vampire. That’s a good amount of damage with half returned as health, and often comes close to topping off my health in standard trash mob fights. Boss fights are another matter altogether, of course – boss damage is often a bit overwhelming for my mere 900 health, as you can imagine.

I’ve gotten used to slower, non-mounted travel, that’s not much of a concern now, but I’m still trying to decide a secondary school. As my chosen strategy is working really well right now, I’m not too worried about a secondary yet, but I have a feeling I’ll be changing my mind about that before I leave Krokotopia – we’ll see.

That’s it for now, I’ll have another update at my next big milestone, maybe when I get my level 22 spell.

It’s Friday – Carl tells jokes about the heat…

So to be more topical – or ‘tropical’ as Carl says it – I had Carl come up with some jokes about the current heat wave that’s covering much of the nation.  As usual – the results were mixed at best…

‘Ditto of the Deep’ – More from Crab Alley!

Ditto FINALLY finds King Thermidor and figures out what’s happening with the riverclaw Amadeo and Crab Alley and, as expected, it’s not pretty… Two videos today because they’re fun and I just want to get through Crab Alley!!  🙂

Ditto’s Weekly Video Bloggy Thingy – July 19th

So here it is, my weekly video bloggy thingy – as I’ve been doing lately, I am including a transcript – it’s close, anyway…

The twitter report – I now have 451 followers! Oh wow! That is still pretty amazing to me!

Currently in Wizard 101 –

Digby has finished ‘Return to Crab Alley’ and is back in Dragonspyre now, making his way towards the evil and naughty Malistaire. I should be there pretty soon! Fire Dragon is the most amazing spell, talk about damage! It’s awesome!

Destiny is level 20 now, I’m posting a new Destiny Project report this week, just need time to finish it. This project is really interesting, I’m learning a lot about playing and especially deck construction, since having a deck that can only hold a handful of cards makes deck construction really critical!

The big question for me this week was should I keep Madame Jasmine or swap out with my new level 48 pet, my helephant. I’m going to take the advice of a number of people who told me to train the helephant up and see what skills manifest, then use the helephant when I need her, and keep Madame Jasmine as well. Sounds good to me, so that’s what I’ll do!

It has been HOT around here lately – this is not a good situation when you’re covered with thick fur, you know? It gets pretty toasty, but I’ve still been spending a lot of time outside, enjoying the fresh air, riding my bike (always wear a helmet!) and things like that. I hope everyone is having a nice fun summer, there’s so much to do, it can be lots of fun!

That’s about it for now. There’s a new Ravenwood Radio tomorrow night with another thrilling ‘Daring Adventures of Ditto’, so I’m excited for that! It’s definitely going to be a good one.

So until next week, Have a great week, and always play safe!!

PLOX!

Ditto returns to Crab Alley – With FIRE DRAGON!

That’s right – once Professor Falmea trained me up on the amazing Fire Dragon spell, I just had to try it, and I still needed to finish up that pesky Crab Alley quest and rescue silly King Thermidor, so I decided to kill two birds (and a lot of river claws) with the proverbial ‘one stone’ or, in this case, dragon. It IS an impressive site, too… just amazing!

The big ‘Pet’ question…

SO at level 48, in addition to the amazing Fire Dragon spell, I got a new pet – the ‘School Pet’ for Pyromancers, a Helephant named Miss Oliver.  She’s very cute, and I can already tell she has a sweet disposition, but… There’s Madame Jasmine.  Jasmine has been by my side and sharing my adventures since March of last year.  She’s like a trusted digital companion to me – that might sound silly, but she’s been with me so long it just seems like putting out to pasture would somehow be… wrong.

Madame Jasmine Miss Oliver

So what do people think? Train up my new Helephant or stick with my faithful sidekick Madame Jasmine? Or a little of both?

Ditto Gets Fire Dragon! Mavra Flamewing defeated!

After my somewhat humiliating defeat at the hands of Mavra Flamewing, I got a lot of great advice, so I re-tooled my deck and went toe to toe with Mavra and her pain-in-the-pox minions again, and this time defeated her easily! (more…)

New Video – Ditto and the worst duel ever…

On the path to get the amazing Fire Dragon spell, I had to duel Mavra Flamewing.  This, as it turns out, was about the worst duel I’ve ever had and did, in fact, lead to my defeat.  There are some clear reasons for this, though, so I wanted to post about it so maybe others can learn form my mistake.  (more…)

It’s Friday – Carl tells some Wizard101 Jokes!

Carl decided to come up with some Wizard 101 jokes – and he didn’t do too bad!  Well… for Carl, anyway…

The Jokes:

Q:  Why did the cyclops have to close his school?

A:  He only had one pupil!

Q:  What does a pirate skeleton order at the Wizard City Diner?

A:  Spare Ribs.

Ditto and the Fire Dragon – Part 1!

Digby reached level 48 recently (woohoo!), and at level 48 got a summons from Professor Falmea.  It seems I was ready to learn my most powerful spell yet, the mighty Fire Dragon!!  Of course to get such a powerful spell, a quest must be undertaken!

First I had to quest through Wizard City, my beloved Krokotopia, Marleybone, and Mooshu, defeating fire bosses and collecting special fire gems.  After that, I had to find a special gold necklace to hold the gems, which was in a fiery forge in Dragonspyre!  What will I have to do next to master this amazing spell?  That will have to wait for part 2! (because let’s face it, nobody is going to watch a 20 minute video of me wandering around Dragonspyre…)

Ditto’s Weekly Video Bloggy Thingy – July 12th

Here it is, my weekly video bloggy thingy – it’s been a slow news week and I’ve been camping and enjoying the outdoors a lot – being outside is fun and awesome.  I’ve also got a somewhat accurate transcript posted below, because a few people ave asked for that previously. (more…)

Happy Friday – Time for Carl!

Happy Friday everyone – this has been a busy week for Ditto, so I haven’t posted too much.  Don’t worry though, I’m working on something good!  In the meantime, Carl has a few more jokes for you…
