Ditto’s new Video Bloggy Thingy is out!!

So here is Ditto again, with another fun Video Bloggy Thingy!!  I love the warm summer weather – I did this bloggy thingy outside! Enjoy!!

Captain Ditto defeats Optimus Prime!!

Well it’s possible I got his name wrong, but Ditto and his crew must do battle with the Armada captain (who’s name is Optimus something, but I wasn’t paying attention while he was shooting at me!!

The fight is a good one, with Ditto and crew in fine form until the unthinkable happens – respawn!! The Armada captain and his crew somehow revived their mechanical innards and we had to do battle again!! Madness!

Ditto really doesn’t like Queen Aryanah in Stone Town.

So Queen Aryanah Silvertusk has a headache… and Ditto needs to take care of that before he can help the student trapped in the zoo.  I really don’t like this queen, I have to say…  Ditto has to talk to the queen’s head of security, Hrathi again, and he tells Ditto to go fight the greyhorns making all the ruckus in the streets.  That’s right, I said ruckus…  So Ditto goes and puts the smackdown on some annoying greyhorns.

Of course after Ditto clears all the fire prisms, etc… out of his deck, the greyhorn is assisted by a fire enemy, who throws a firezilla on the first turn!  Anyway – it’s a pretty good fight, With Ditto showing those annoying rhinos who’s the boss….

Captain Ditto fighting more Armada troops!

Ditto had some trouble with WordPress for a few days, so it took a bit longer to get this out. Sorry about that – the joys of technology.

Captain Ditto and his trusty crew forge deeper into the spooky tunnels, battling The Armada deep within the Isle of Doooom!!  Some good fights against this mechanical menace!!

Ditto goes to the Zoo!! Oh, and there’s a wizard held captive there.

Ditto has finally found Hrathi Irontrunk’s pen and parchment, and returns to get the royal order.  Ditto heads to the Zoological Garden to speak to the evil captive wizard — who ends up being one of the missing students!!  He wasn’t a nasty evil wizard at all, just a poor lost student!  Bugs attacked him and the group, and then didn’t understand that he was a victim — they thought he was an agent of the zebras and kidnapped the prince!!  A frightened prince that they keep in a zoo!  That’s pretty awful, actually…

Ditto ALSO takes a tour of the most amazingly fun zoo ever!!  There’s a full sized Firezilla, and ice cats, and these cure little gobbler thingys!!  I love it — I spent bunch of time exploring and seeing the animals!

Captain Ditto faces The Armada on The Isle of Dooooom!!

Captain Ditto is deep in the Isle of Dooom, still looking for Gortez and the fabled gold money thingy.  However, when we get to a dark spooky temple, The Armada is there – dun dun dunnnnn!!   Ditto and his crew must battle the dreaded Armada to reach the next goal of their deep jungle quest!!!

These are some pretty intense fights – The Armada doesn’t mess around!!

By way of explanation… Edgar.

So I guess a little explanation might be in order in regards to the video of Edgar this morning. Edgar is, as you may have guessed, a new roommate, and he has been VERY excited about being on my website. Of course, he doesn’t really play video games, or know much about them, and I’ve been busy with contests, etc…, so it has been hard to find a place to work him into a video. Well, today he talked Carl, my faithful (but not terribly bright) camera-bear into doing a video, but all he saw on my calendar was ‘Ditto vid blog’ and figured he’d try to do that. (Yes, I need to do a real one soon…) The video that got posted this morning was the result.

So what do you think about Edgar? He’s a nice enough guy – um, dragon – and he wants to be part of the site. What should I have him do? Any ideas?

New Video – Captain Ditto picking flowers in the jungle… #pirate101

So to get further into the jungle, into the very heart of darkness, Ditto must get past… bees.  So after fighting warships and troggies and all kinds of nasty stuff, Ditto’s quest is blocked by small stinging insects.  Maybe the crew is allergic, who knows.  So after collecting – of all things – troggy slime, Ditto now needs to pick special flowers and mix them all together to make bee repellent.  This stuff is repellent alright..

Of course the troggies just don’t play nice, and Ditto ends up getting into another troggy fight.  Nothing his more or less adequate crew can’t handle…

Captain Ditto faces the Temple of Sacrifice on the Island of Dooooom!

Captain Ditto and his faithful crew have tracked Criado to ‘The Temple of Sacrifice’ – which doesn’t sound like a very nice place!  They have to explore this deep, dark, creepy temple and find the evil Troggies, then save Criado from a fate worse than death!  This fight was extra challenging because the evil Troggy chieftain had a really nasty trick – he could suck the health out of his own men – um, frogs – and replenish his own health!  It was scary, but a really good fight!!

To Save the Spiral, Ditto must recover…. A Pen?

Ditto is once again at the Darjani palace (and finds another game of Shock-A-Lock!) – he has to get the queen’s ring as the royal seal for a royal letter to get him past Rocksteady to interrogate the wizard prisoner. However, the captain of the queen’s guard cannot complete the royal letter, because some bad guys stole his pen and they are too tough for him to fight – so he asks Ditto to go and do it. Yes, you read that right – the big tough war elephant captain of the queen’s guard is sending the student from wizard city against some big tough fire bad guys to recover his pen. His PEN. Seriously – I would just go and buy him a new pen if I could….

Anyway, ditto fights some of the bad guys, and naturally doesn’t find the pen, so there will be lots more fighting and stuff and Ditto will make another video once he gets that done…

Ditto meets the queen in Stone Town

Ditto is back in Stone Town, and after defeating a bunch of bad guys right there in the courtyard of the palace, Ditto finally get sin to see the queen! It seems that the Queen and the resident sof stone town think that the Zebras stole the elephant prince, and now Ditto not only has to find the missing Wizard City students – he apparently has to stop a war! How’s that for an extra credit assignment!

Ditto has to talk to the queen’s guard to try and sort out the situation, and learns that they have a prisoner who is confirming the kidnapping story! Ditto really needs to get to the bottom of this, but the rhino guarding the prisoner – named RockSteady (kinda) – won’t let Ditto investigate with the proper documentation. Seems a bit suspicious to me!!

Ditto is Following the Yellow Arrow to adventure!

So, it’s been a while since Ditto has played Wizard101, and I have pretty much forgotten what I was doing.  Luckily, there are handy yellow arrows to follow that will tell me where to go and what to do.  First, the arrows tell Ditto to talk to the Librarian, Kilman Copperleaf.  Apparently Ditto fought some bad guys and recovered the pages of Kilman’s favorite book. That was nice of me.  Next, the yellow arrow tells Ditto to go defeat bandits in the market to find a purse, so Ditto does that too.  Overall it’s a fun way to get back into the game and remember what we are doing…

Captain Ditto heads deep into the Dark Jungle of DOOOOOM…

Ditto has completed the dreaded tomb of Doooom, and he talks to the Monquistan foreman about how to move further on his epic quest through the Island of Doooom…. he goes into the jungle to find a monquistan campsite in the Dark Jungle, but it is destroyed and deserted!!  Where did everyone go?  Another mystery to solve on this quest of… DOOOOOM!

Captain Ditto fights Haku in the Ancient Tomb of DOOOOOOM!

Ditto is on The Island of Doom and, to get help from the Monquistans there, he has to help them with their little ‘pest control’ problem – namely Haku, a Water Mole leader, who has the whole Water Mole population in an uprising against the Monquistans.

Ditto searches through the dark and scary tomb to find the dreaded Haku, and a massive fight ensues!  But just when Ditto’s team finally defeats Haku, thinking the battle is won, something even WORSE attacks out of the shadows!  Ditto and his crew are in a monster-movie fight for their life deep in the Ancient Tomb of DOOOOOOOM….

Ditto Does a Cat Video!! Introducing Ditto’s new Kitty, ‘Susan’!

Ditto has a new kitty cat, who he named Miss Whiskers, but she prefers the name Susan – who can understand cats? So Ditto wants to try to get into this whole ‘Cat Video’ craze, and Susan is adorable – though she does have a bit of an attitude. It should be fun! Here’s the very first intro video with my new kitty, Miss Susan Whiskers, or whatever… What do you think?

Ditto makes it to Stone Town, immediately gets in a fight…

Ditto makes it to Stone Town as an envoy for the Oliphant Queen – but the guard can’t take him to the queen until he fights off some bad guys. I have to say, this is a terrible plan – the guard is afraid to leave his post because of the bad guys are all around, but if he can’t see them then he can leave his post? What if they are hiding, or they just left to get ice cream and they come back while he’s gone? It really is a terrible plan…

Ditto does go through his deck and discusses the best way to fight fire minions, since the Rain of Fire spell does minimal damage on the first hit, which is where the prism conversion kicks in. In a case like this, even though it might take longer to get two Efreet spells out, the damage is much higher due to the prism converting all of the damage to ice.

Ditto once again talks with Steve Spohn of Able Gamers at PAX East

Last year, while exploring all the many things PAX East had to offer, Ditto came across the AbleGamers booth and was able to talk to Steve Spohn, the Editor-In-Chief of the AbleGamers Foundation, about the amazing work that AbleGamers does, helping disabled kids and veterans to get back into accessible gaming. It was the interview that meant the most to me last year, and so Steve was the first person I checked with once I had my PAX East tickets for this years’ show. AbleGamers was once again hanging out at PAX East (this time with a bunch of Pachinko machines!!) telling people all about the organization and showing off accessible gaming hardware, like an Asteroids game you can play just with your eyes!

Ditto talks to Tony Goodwin of Twisted Pixel about LocoCycle and gets a game demo!

Last year at PAX East 2012, Ditto talked to a great indy company called Twisted Pixel, and their game ‘The Maw’ ended up being Dittos’ favorite new game from the show.  This year Twisted Pixel were back, bigger and badder than ever, with an all new game coming soon, called ‘LocoCycle’. It’s a crazy fusion of driving game and fighting game, where you play I.R.I.S the AI Motorcycle AND Pablo the mechanic, who is unwittingly (And Hilariously) dragged along for the ride as I.R.I.S goes haywire.

Ditto Interviews Jared Kasl of Pagoda West Games and talks about ‘Major Magnet’ at PAX East

With all the ‘shock and awe’ of the PAX East expo floor, it’s really nice to find something unxpected among all the noise and flashing lights, and that’s just what Ditto found when he talked to Jared Kasl of Pagoda West Games about their fun and clever platformer, ‘Major Magnet’.

Ditto talks to Tom Eastman from Trinket Studios at PAX East

While hundreds of people went to PAX East to see games like Elder Scrolls Online, One of the games that Ditto was most excited to see was a unique iOS gamed by Trinket Studios called ‘Color Sheep‘. Think of it – you’re a fluffy sheep, Sir Woolston, and you have to save the world from color stealing sheep! OK, Color Sheep is the kind of game Ditto loves! It is cute! It’s fun! It’s a fluffy sheep named Sir Woolston who shoots lasers! I couldn’t ask for better. The soundtrack is cute too, and overall the game is quite addictive. It’s a fast-paced game, but it’s easy to learn and play as you blast your way through each level, taking out the evil wolves as the march across the screen.

Ditto interviews Clutch Play Games, makers of ‘Little Chomp’

At PAX East, Ditto met up with Amy and John of Clutch Play Games, who make a really fun, cute mobile game called ‘Little Chomp’. In the game, you guide a very cute caterpillar through a number of levels by ‘shooting’ him from leaf to leaf, collecting coins and fruit as you go – a game where you get to eat stuff, is there anything better for Ditto? You can use the fruit you collect to feed your other caterpillar friends by ‘flicking’ the fruit at them, and it turns them into butterflies! I like that part a lot! The controls are really simple and the game is very easy to start playing, but the higher levels are definitely a real challenge. (more…)

Ditto Interviews Ichiro Lambe of Dejobaan Games – Monster Loves You

One of the things that Ditto likes to do at PAX East is to find cool new family friendly games among all the crazy stuff. As I was wandering through the crowd, a big green banner caught my eye with the words ‘Monster Loves You’ emblazoned across it. You see, it is VERY hard for a monster to find a good role model in most video games. Sure, there are some friendly monsters who will help you learn to count or tie your shoes, but MOST of the monsters out there are of the ‘under your bed with burning red eyes and long dripping fangs’ variety, and that’s just not fair.

The Winners of the ‘Where’s Ditto’ Contest!

Here are the winners from Ditto’s ‘Where’s Ditto‘ contest – this was a fun contest to do, and I’ll probably do more of them in the future.  Maybe next time I’ll hide in three locations and you’ll need to find all three, something like that.

For this contest, I was hidden in the School of Tempest in Pigswick Academy in Wysteria – I thought it was a good hiding spot! (more…)

Captain Ditto prepares to sail to The Isle of Doooooom!

Captain Ditto talks to the Monquistan outfitter to prepare him for The Isle of Doom!  Ditto and his crew then head out to the dreaded island and bring snacks to the Monquistans there – because Ditto likes to help.
