The wonderful Autumn StarWalker made a really great banner for Ditto – it looks so cool and sparkly! What does everyone think?
Thanks so much Autumn!
This is a first – thanks to KingsIsle, Ditto is very happy to announce that EVERYONE who entered my July Wizard101 contest is a winner!! That’s right – if you sent me a contest entry to firstname.lastname@example.org for my Rock and Roll contest, you won!! I’ve already sent out all the prizes, so make sure you check your email – people won instruments, music boxes, all kinds of great musical stuff.
I have always said that I wished I could give out prizes to everyone who enters my contests – and thanks to the awesome Lydia Greyrose and the rest of KingsIsle, I was finally able to make that dream come true!! Thanks everyone who entered, and always remember – have fun and play safe!!
Captain Ditto and his faithful crew are searching the Isle of Doom for Gortez – and get jumped by evil birds! So it’s Ditto’s tough swashbuckling crew versus crazed parakeets – and I have to admit, I’m not all that impressed by how my crew fared… I mean, they’re just BIRDS people…
Of course the real battle was with Smoky the kitten, who insists that Ditto’s laptop is his new toy… Oh Smoky – you’re lucky you’re cute 🙂
Hello everybody, it is the Ditto, with a special edition Video Bloggy Thingy. As you probably know, Ditto is entered in the Geek & Sundry Vlogger contest, and made the first round of public judging, which started yesterday and ends on June 27th. Well, thanks to Ditto’s awesome friends and fans and followers, Ditto’s vlog quickly rose into the leaderboards, and by the time Ditto went to bed last night, it was number three on the leaderboards!!
To be honest, even though Ditto knew he had awesome fans and friends and followers, for some reason me not really expect this… and me is still a little overwhelmed by the amazing outpouring of support. As soon as I posted that I was in the contest and asked people to vote for me, the #twizard and #twirate – Twirate, is that a real thing? – fan communities went into action like a well-oiled machine – kind of Armada-like, when you think about it…. ooh, scary. They were reposting and spreading the word far and wide. People like Paige Moonshade and Kelsey Fireheart and Sophia Titanheart and Meciless Morrgrim and tons of others just posted and reposted all over the place, and the numbers kept going up and up, and they are still going up!
This is exciting and awesome and I cannot thank you all enough for this amazing outpouring of support. I know we are on a solid trajectory to make it to the next round, but no matter what happens, no matter if I make the next round, or get dropped, or win the whole thing and get chosen as a Geek & Sundry Vlogger, I know that being a member of this fan community makes me the biggest winner of all – this is seriously more than any furry orange monster could ever hope for. Even better than pie!!
Thanks everybody – have fun, play safe, and I’ll see you in the Spiral!!
Vote for Ditto!
For Pet-A-Palooza, Ditto had a pet show contest, and I got so many awesome entries!! I love your ideas and all your cute and awesome pets! All the winners won a special pet pack with one Mega Snack Pack, one Hatching Elixir, one Energy Elixir, and one GREAT random pet! Here are the winners with their great Pet Contest entries!! (more…)
Captain Ditto and his intrepid crew are investigating the deep dark plundered tunnels to try to thwart the Armada – I love that word, ‘Thwart’ – and Ditto gets pulled into an unexpected fight!! Well, it probably shouldn’t be unexpected with so many Armada troops around… but I didn’t want to get into a fight. It’s a good fight though, and pretty exciting….
Video Bloggy Thingy – March 9th 2013
Hey everybody – it it the Ditto! OOh, it is already March – isn’t that exciting!! Lots going on with the Ditto, me have been a very busy monster with lots of news – but first me start with the Twitter report. Ditto has 1212 followers now – how cool is that? Well its cool to me – thank you to all of my fans and followers, i really do this for you!
So in game news I have the amazing ‘Pot O’ Gold’ contest running in Wizard 101 – winners get mounts, pets, an amazing house, gold, and crowns! It runs through March 22nd, so Check out dittomonser.com for all the details!
In Pirate101 news Ditto is monkeying around deep in the heart of Moquista! I’m working on some sweet upgrades for my ship, too, like a great new figurehead with new attack power. I’m really loving Pirate 101 and can’t wait to explore more!
And I do have another game I’ve been playing a lot lately – this one is an iOS game called ‘Wake the Cat’ and it’s a very fun, cute little game where your have to solve physics puzzles and, well, wake a cute little kitten. It’s challenging and very fun, so when I’m not on Wizard101 or Pirate101 I’ve been playing that.
And last but definitely not least, PAX East is coming in just two weeks!! DItto has so much going on for PAX East – I’ve got great interviews lined up this year! I’ll be talking to Steve Spohn from Able Gamers, who is always awesome to talk to – Able Gamers does such an awesome job! I’ve also lined up interviews with developers and designers from Trinket Studios, Pagoda West, Clutch Play Games, and more. And the big announcement is that I’ve been able to set up a brief interview with – are you ready? Robert Khoo, the president of Penny Arcade Inc! AAhhhhh!! That is going to be so incredible – Ditto is so excited!!! I’m pretty sure I am the first fuzzy orange monster to interview him…
There will be a few more announcements too, things Ditto is still waiting on confirmation on and that will be just as awesome and exciting!!
Thanks to everyone who spread the word about my Twitter contest, and of course to KingsIsle for helping me have a contest in the first place!! My Twitter account passed 1000 followers a little while ago, and I verified on two different devices and via email that Autumn Moonblade was my 1000th follower!
I’m going to keep the contest going until tomorrow afternoon (Sunday, October 21st) to give more people a chance to enter the contest (by following me on Twitter) and I’ll select ten random winners and post them here.
Thanks again to everyone – I do love Twitter and the way it can help connect people and share information and fun and support. I love my followers and all the great feedback I get!

At long last, Ditto and Mark Swiftgem finally face Tempus Stormfist, the final boss of the Storm Lord’s Temple. I wonder what’s up with that big weird squid thingy in the background?
Well it was a big fight and Mark helped a lot – finally we defeated Tempus and got the final portal piece! A great set of quests and a fun time.
Hi everybody, it’s Ditto. I know, it’s been like a week, but Ditto had a cold and couldn’t really make videos. Well, I could have made videos, but they would have been full of sneezing and a very funny voice (as opposed to just my normal funny voice)
Well, I am feeling much better today and want to announce ‘Ditto’s Second Wizardversary Party’ celebrating two years of playing Wizard101 and blogging about it!!
The party will be held on Friday, February 17th, and will start at 8pm EST, but will last a few hours so lots of people have a chance to come and hang out.
The party is in my ‘housing complex’ – I have 5 pretty large houses all interconnected with portals, so there will be plenty of room. We’ll probably spend the most time between my Sultans Palace and Sun Palace, as both have dueling rings and I figured we could have some PvP fun too… All houses will be available and, as per my usual, poorly decorated…
Currently the plan is for friends to port to me and friends of friends to port to them. I’m also setting up a port bus, more details on that closer to the party (as I still have to figure it out and set it up)
The BIG news for the party (other than the fact that it is my party and will be fun) is that I have got codes to give away for the new Kirin mounts!! That’s right – I will be choosing random people at random times throughout the party and getting them Kirin mount codes! How cool is that! Special thanks to Kiersten at KingsIsle for that! Friday, February 17th, Ditto’s second Wizardversary!!! It’s going to be a great time, I hope to see you there!!!
So I’ve been fighting it all weekend, but it’s time to face the truth – Ditto has a cold. Miss Narrator helped me with lots of nutritious food and orange juice and this very yummy herbal tea she makes me, but I’m still sneezing and talking funny… Well, funnier than usual, at least.
I did get to play the game a bit over the weekend and had some fun doing Floating Land quests, but I didn’t get to record any of it because of the sneezing and stuffy nose. And tell me this – how do I have sneezing and a stuffy nose when I don’t have a nose? I’ll never figure that out.
I’m sure I’ll be back to normal soon and have more exciting videos posted. I wanted to post something about Pack-A-Palooza too, because that’s going on now and there are cool new pets. I’ll try to get that out soon, too.
I’m having some minor technical difficulties today, meaning that this weeks’ post for Carl and Destiny will be late and/or delayed until tomorrow – really sorry about that. Until then, here is a picture of a kitten and a tortoise.
People have probably heard about this already, but it is SO cute!! ‘Sissy’s Magical Ponycorn Adventure’ was created by a five year old girl and her father at a recent Game Jam – all the character art and some voices were done by a 5 year old girl. I just had to share!!
In the epic adventure of the Knowledge Crystals, I have to face the Crystal of Honor, which is a duel with a really tricky Storm school boss. The fight is fun and really exciting, and I think it does a good job showing how strategy can work to defeat a superior opponent.
Facebook – love it or hate it, it has become the number one social network and is one of the most visited sites on the web. From Facebook’s own statistics:
* More than 500 million active users
* 50% of active users log on to Facebook in any given day
* The average user has 130 friends
* People spend over 700 billion minutes per month on Facebook
Needless to say, it’s a big part of many people’s online lives and even identities. I have over 300 friends and followers on Facebook myself, and I’ll admit, I only really ‘know’ about two dozen of them – the rest are all fans or followers of my blog, etc… (more…)
“I’ve never wished a man dead, but I have read some obituaries with great pleasure” – civil liberties champion Clarence Darrows
I was in Wizard City, just crusing through the commons, when I came across three young wizards in what amounted to a shouting match, using the most awful language. Not awful because it was vulgar, however, but awful because of the grammatical gymnastics they were performing just to get around Wizard 101’s chat filters. They were all very obviously trying to insult and smack-talk one another (do people still say smack-talk? Monsters use it all the time but sometimes we’re behind the times. I still have ‘Prince’ on cassette…) and maybe to them the put-downs were flying fast and furious, but to an outside observer it was nonsensical and a little sad.
I’ve seen this before, of course, but I’m still genuinely confused by the display, especially in games like wizard 101, which seems to have a lot of chat filtering to keep it family friendly, and which isn’t a super-competitive game like some hardcore first person shooter; sure there’s some PvP, but it just doesn’t seem all that bloodthirsty. I mean, really – it’s kids going to wizard school, with unicorns for pets, not a Black Ops deathmatch…
So I want to ask the question here – is it really so hard to just be polite? Just talk to other players with respect, or at the very least don’t bad mouth others in game (or anywhere for that matter) and keep your negative opinions to yourself. It’s not that hard, honest – in fact in Wizard 101 and a few other games, it’s actually EASIER to be polite than it is to trash talk, which is a nice feature. Jumping through the chat filter hoops to curse out someone in Wiz 101 just makes you look kind of sad and somewhat illiterate…
Anyway – be nice to each other, it makes the world a much nicer place!
I can’t believe I am doing this on my blog, but the lovely and talented Miss Narrator asked me to post the recipe to her amazingly yummy Chocolatey Walnut Brownie Bread, so here you go:
This is a bread machine recipe so you should use a bread machine to make it, I guess. I’m not a cook – I can’t even get too close to the stove or else my fur could singe…
|Ingredient||Regular Loaf||Large Loaf|
|Water||1/3 Cup||1/2 Cup|
|Milk||2/3 cup||1 cup|
|Unsalted Butter||5 tablespoons||7 tablespoons|
|Salt||1 teaspoon||1 1/4 teaspoons|
|Dark Brown Sugar||1/3 cup packed||1/2 cup packed|
|Unsweetened Cocoa||5 tablespoons||8 tablespoons|
|Bread Flour||3 cups||4 cups|
|Dry Yeast||2 1/4 teaspoons||1 tablespoon|
|Chopped Walnuts, lightly toasted||2/3 cup||1 cup|
|12 slices||16 slices|
1.All ingredients must be at room temperature. Liquid ingredients should be approx. 80 degrees F. Cut butter into small cubes. Add ingredients in the order specified in your bread machine owners manual. Walnuts can be added 5 minutes before the end of the last kneading cycle.
2. Select white or basic bread type and light crust.
3. Remove baked loaf from the pan at the end of the baking cycle and cool on a wire rack at least 1 hour before slicing. (Apparently this is so the amazing smell fills the whole house for an hour and makes everyone really really hungry…)
Not Wizard 101 related but I just saw this on Kotaku.com – I think it’s of interest to people around here because I have a strong suspicion that Warner Brothers and Turbine joining forces might mean another wizarding-school themed online game in our future? It’s certainly not outside the realm of possibility, anyway. What does everyone else think?
