New Video – Ditto Monster interviews Singer/Songwriter Jenna Greene!
This past weekend I had a wonderful opportunity to sit down with an amazing performer, Jenna Greene of Greene Lady Music. Jenna is a singer and songwriter, as well as a wonderful harpist and all around beautiful person who has dedicated her life to music, love, and using her gifts to make the world a better place. In the interview I ask her about her music, about her first CD, ‘Crossroads’, and about her upcoming project, ‘Wild Earth Child’. Jenna also wrote a song just for me – it’s so wonderful, I was very excited and happy to hear it!! I think you’ll love it 🙂
As I’ve posted a few times now, Jenna is currently trying to raise funds for her next CD through Kickstarter, and as of today there’s only one week lef and she’s still looking for additional sponsors. Please feel free to link this post or this video and spread the word to help Jenna realize her goal and her dream of getting her new CD finished!
This was a really fun interview to do, and I hope you enjoy watching it and even if you can’t help sponsor the new CD, please share this video with others to help spread the word and get ‘Wild Earth Child’ finished!
Ditto Faces Malistaire, Part 4 – knock, knock…
Ditto and his merry band make their way through the labyrinth that is The Great Spire, and come upon Malistaire’s very interesting security system… First, the team has to split up to fight two different groups of opponents that are keeping the portal to Malistaire’s office sealed, and then once through that portal, we need to fight a group of scary Soul Servants, while Malistaire hovers in the background doing something very naughty, I’m certain…
Overall, I love this quest and want to do it more – it’s difficult, yes (as it should be), but it’s also really well plotted out, and every fight seems to make sense, you feel like you’re progressing and undoing a lot of the things Malistaire has done before you…
Tomorrow – the big battle!! Ditto (and his awesome and very capable team) and Malistaire!!
Ditto Faces Malistaire – Part 3
We moved further into the Great Spire and faced the Gurtok Piercer, a giant ice boss that looked like a frosty Helephant, and two ice minions. I don’t believe this fight was required, but apparently these bosses drop really good loot. This was a tricky fight, possibly because of all the tower shields that were getting thrown, lowering our damage output. I do get some solid hits in with Fire Dragon, and the final blow was my Fire Dragon Damage Over Time, so I felt pretty good about that.
More great adventures in Malistaire’s Lair tomorrow, and the final battle (All nearly 14 minutes of it) will be posted on Wednesday, just in time for the Ravenwood Radio 50th episode live broadcast!!
Ditto Faces Malistaire, Part 2 – Fire Fight!
Ditto and his team head deeper into the Great Spire and face their first fight, a team of fire enemies. This is the first time I really see Fallon in action, and wow… I’m a pyromancer and even my mind was blown at her damage output…
Needless to say, the fight was a lot shorter than I imagined it would be against enemies of that level, and we were victorious. After this battle, I was far less worried about our chances against Malistaire.
After the fight we headed up this cool giant elevator – I didn’t get much video, but it was really cool! The Great Spire is amazing!
Ditto Faces Malistaire – Part 1
Part 1 of my epic Malistaire battle – I meet up with Fallon, James Lifecaller, and Elijah Lightthief at Dragons’ Roost and head deep into The Great Spire to face our destiny!!! Don’t worry, there’s LOTS more video to come – I’m still editing and uploading. I’ll probably post the first duel video today too…
New Video – Ditto’s Video Bloggy Thingy September 27, 2011
Here it is, my Video Bloggy Thingy for this week – I have been a very busy monster, but I think things will be a little less crazy now (hopefully) and I will have more videos coming. I’ve still got to plan the Malistaire duel, it looks like I’ll be able to get it done this week (yay!) . I can’t wait! I have another surprise coming up soon, too, with some help from a friend – just need to get that filmed as well 🙂
Ditto Takes Flight!! My thoughts on Wizard 101 so far…
On February 17th, 2010, a furry orange monster named Ditto started playing a game called Wizard 101. The very first day of playing this fun and magical game, as part of the game’s own introduction, I met a very scary wizard named Malistaire, and since that day, through multiple worlds and 51 levels, my quest has been to track down this evil wizard and put a stop to his nefarious schemes! (more…)
Ditto completes the Drake Armor!!
After many long battles, Ditto finally has gathered all the pieces so that Vidor can complete the amazing and powerful Drake Armor! the moment is almost at hand for Ditto and his faithful sidekick Madame Jasmine to be whisked away to face the dark and malevolent Malistaire!! (more…)
Ditto’s Video Bloggy Thingy – September 13th, 2011
So here is this week’s Video Bloggy Thingy. Since I FINALLY made it to the Malistaire quest, I’ve been taking time to do other side quests as I plan my huge assault! I did all of Wysteria, which was a lot of fun and really cute, I think it was a well written story and set of quests. I also went back to Grizzleheim, which I hadn’t been to since I was level 26 or 30. I was able to spend a bunch of time finishing quests and finally got to see the king, who of course gave me a super crazy and dangerous quest to take out a big bad grendel named Jotun. Yikes. I’ll be doing that soon too, maybe tonight… (more…)
Ditto starts forging the Dragon Armor!!
After many, many fights to collect the items needed to light the great forge, and then many more fights to collect the junky Draconian armor to use as scrap metal for his dragon armor, Ditto needs to collect a final ingredient – brimstone – and then start forging the new dragon armor! Of course, once he’s almost complete he learns that he’s not quite done yet… there’s still another dungeon that stands between him and Malistaire!
Ditto learns the final secrets of the Dragon Riders
After defeating the mighty Kraysys, Ditto recovers the final knowledge crystal holding the deepest secrets of the Dragon Riders. He replaces the crystal into the chamber of knowledge and learns all about riding a might drake.
Once he learns these secrets, Ditto is ready to take flight… but Vidor Drakesmith tells him he needs to forge armor for his drake first… and of course he needs to defeat a bunch of random creatures in order to light the forge and create the armor… Here we go again 🙂
Ditto and Paige MoonShade versus Kraysys!
As I was battling Kraysys in Dragonsyre – and losing repeatedly – the wonderful Paige Moonshade showed up and offered to lend me a hand (which I gladly accepted!) With her expert help, we made short work of the terrible storm boss and his overachieving fire spider minion, and I was finally able to recover the book I needed to continue my studies as a dragon rider! Thanks so much to Paige Moonshade for her help!
Ditto battles Kraysys and loses… a lot…
This was a really difficult fight, one of the hardest I’ve ever had. Kraysys is a storm boss with a fire spider minion, and the combined damage they deal is insane. At one point, I was take out by a double-smash of stormzilla followed immediately by a firezilla… This video is just an edited down version of the three unsuccessful duels against the mighty storm boss…
Ditto’s Video Bloggy Thingy – Sept 6th, 2011
Wow, a lot has happened since my last video bloggy thingy! I broke 500 Twitter followers! I’m now at 522 and gaining new followers almost every day, so thank you!! I survived a hurricane, I made Grandmaster, I started posting chapters of my new adventure story, Derek Hexflame, and I’m knocking on Malistaire’s door, ready for the big final confrontation!! I can’t wait – I’m working out what I want to do for that soon!
Have a great week! See you in the Spiral, play safe!!

Learning to be a Dragon Rider, Part 1
In order to be a real dragon rider, Ditto must learn all about this secret and noble art… Following the wise tutelage of Vidor Drakesmith, Ditto begins to learn the ancient and awesome art of Dragon Riding! It even includes the care and feeding of your drake – how cool is that?
Ditto teaches the baby drake!
After many long battles to find and hatch the last of the dragon eggs, Ditto has finally hatched a cute and cuddly baby drake! Now, after talking to the ancient dragon matriarch, Ditto must bring the baby drake to see the other ancient dragons to learn the lessons of dragonkind. It’s really very cute and touching…
A Very Happy Birthday to Christina Icedreamer and Wizard 101 !!!
Ditto, Miss Narrator, and Carl the Camera-Bear want to wish the wonderful IcyWiz and the most amazing game, Wizard 101, a VERY Happy Birthday!! We hope your day is awesome!
Ditto hatches the drake egg, part 3
SO after fighting 17 Gallium Juggernauts, Ditto has finally recovered the sacred Crystal Hammer, he must hatch the egg on the special platform, that is of COURSE guarded by someone big and mean and nasty, Viktor Snowcrusher! What a name! It just so happened that there were already a couple wizards fighting Viktor, so I asked them if I could join – because that is polite, Ditto never just jumps into a fight, especially a boss fight – without asking first. We finally take out Viktor and hatch a very cute little baby dragon!! I didn’t edit these two videos together for some reason, that’s why it’s in 2 parts… It’s all the same segment though.
Ditto Hatching the Drake Egg, part 2
Back at the Ancient Matriarch, Ditto learns of the sacred crystal hammer, needed to aid the baby drake in hatching… of course like most things in Dragonspyre, the hammer was taken by the forces of evil, so Ditto must fight about a hundred Gallium Juggernauts to win it back… Ah well, it’s all to hatch a wee baby dragon, so I was totally OK with it…
Ditto Hatches a Drake Egg – Part 1
Now that Ditto has rescued a rare Drake Egg, he needs to hatch it – the Ancient Matriarch once again leads the way and Ditto has to head to Golem Court in Wizard City for some special flame to warm the egg.
Here’s a tip – the ‘warming the egg’ portion of this is very quick, so set a teleport marker at the Ancient Matriarch to get back and finish this portion of the quest more quickly.
Hurricane Irene Livebloggy-thingy
3:30pm – It looks like the storm is finally winding down. The wind is still strong but it has died down a lot, and though the rain is back, it’s not nearly as strong as it was earlier. It looks like we’re almost through it, and we’re all safe and sound and we still have power, even though it’s being reported that more than half of the state has lost power at this point. We’re doing OK, but it was still pretty scary! Hopefully everyone who lost power gets fixed soon!
1:45pm – I opened the side door and took some footage of the huge Maple tree in our yard swayin’ in the breeze. It’s a little intimidating, I feel very small under these huge trees as they’re blown around so easily by the winds. Thankfully we still have power and the tree is still standing strong, only a few smaller branches have snapped off.
12:45pm – Still doing well. Miss Narrator made a great lunch, vegan frittata with tofu and zucchini. We still have power and internet, the rain has stopped completely, but the winds are much stronger. We’ve got a number of broken limbs, but nothing serious yet. We’re doing fine, hopefully we’ll be through the worst of things soon! Thanks for all the well-wishes on Twitter too, we appreciate it! Hopefully everyone else is doing Ok too!
10:45am – New video from the front porch. We don’t seem to be taking the full force of the storm, thankfully – it looks like we’re on the edges right now. Our thoughts are with anyone who is facing the full strength of this storm, I know it’s very dangerous further West.
10:30am – The wind and rain are still really strong, the trees are really whipping around. The rain against the roof is really loud, too. I’m going to post more video soon, while I still have internet and power.
9:30am – We’re starting to see power hits, just had about a 30 second power outage and a few flickers but it came right back. The rain is really heavy now, we can barely see across the street, and the winds are very strong. Lots of downed branches, one of them (about 3 feet long) just bounced off the house, but it wasn’t huge or heavy, thankfully. I’m really glad we removed all the lawn ornaments and deck furniture yesterday, because these winds would certainly be tossing the lighter things around the yard.
9am – Winds and rain have picked up considerably, with some really strong gusts. The trees are starting to whip about, we’re keeping an eye on those, but so far so good. We’ve still got power and no local flooding issues, not much else to report.
8am – We’re getting some heavy rains now, and the wind is picking up, we’re seeing 30 to 50 mph with gusts a bit higher. We still have power, there are a few smaller tree limbs down, but no major flooding in this area yet. I know from local news there are a few areas closer to the water that have been evacuated and some roads that are closed due to flooding, but everyone is safe and sound here.
Ditto prepares for Hurricane Irene!
Ditto and Miss Narrator are getting ready for hurricane Irene, and we want to make sure that you know how to be ready for hurricanes and other scary things. Here is what we are doing to prepare and stay safe:
- We are listening to the radio and watching television and looking online for weather updates and evacuation orders.
- We have a place to meet in case we get separated during the hurricane.
- We made sure we have some water and non-perishable food stored (that means food you don’t have to refrigerate or freeze), just in case we lose water or power during the storm.
- We have candles and flashlights with fresh batteries, also in case we lose power. Being in the dark during a storm can be very scary, so having several sources of emergency light is a good idea.
- We are bringing in outside furniture and lawn ornaments – you don’t want to see what a lawn gnome can do to your house in 90 mph winds!!
- We made sure we know where our nearest evacuation or emergency center is, and know a couple routes to get there in case roads get blocked.
- If you don’t need to evacuate, be sure to STAY INDOORS during a hurricane. You could be hit by flying objects or be knocked over or hurt by strong winds.
- Don’t be fooled if there is a pause in the wind. It could just be the eye of the storm, and the winds will come again, and could come up suddenly.
- If you do evacuate, do NOT go back home until local officials say it is safe.
- Hurricanes can be very scary. If you are scared, be sure to talk to someone about it, there is nothing wrong with being afraid…
- Finally, Hurricanes are serious, make sure if you’re a kid, you listen to your parents and take things seriously, so you can stay safe.
You can get even more information about preparing for serious weather events and more at the FEMA For Kids website.
Ditto Seeks a Drake Egg, Part 3 – Valeska Redwind
In the final room of the ‘Secure House’, Ditto faces Valeska Redwind, who is very cranky and not a very nice person. This is a pretty good fight against a Myth boss and an Ice minion. The Ice minion goes down pretty quick, but I have to take Valeska down point by point, finally defeating her with a wand spell of all things. (more…)
Ditto Seeks a Drake Egg – Part 2
Still battling through the oddly named ‘Secure House’, Ditto faces off against a terrifying pair of enemies. For a Pyromancer, an Ice enemy can deal heavy boosted damage while tossing up lots of shields, and a serious fire enemy has major immunity to fire damage, minimizing even the best attacks the Pyromancer can unleash. Put these two enemies together, and your friendly neighborhood furry orange monster gets VERY nervous… An intense battle to rescue the last of the precious drake eggs!! (more…)
