Ditto Takes Flight!! My thoughts on Wizard 101 so far…

On February 17th, 2010, a furry orange monster named Ditto started playing a game called Wizard 101.  The very first day of playing this fun and magical game, as part of the game’s own introduction, I met a very scary wizard named Malistaire, and since that day, through multiple worlds and 51 levels, my quest has been to track down this evil wizard and put a stop to his nefarious schemes!

Yes, it’s been fun and exciting!  Yes, I have learned so much, from my first feeble yet excited attempts to cast a Fire Elf to learning my beloved Meteor Strike, then on to Helephant and my current favorite, the amazing Fire Dragon!  I’ve explore haunted caves and sunken cities, visited ancient tombs and smokestack-filled rooftops, and journeyed from tranquil bamboo-lined roads to the netherworld to capture a ghost in a cage – Ravenwood Academy certainly doesn’t provide what you’d call a standard education, but I definitely learned a LOT!

Sure I learned about awesome spells and amazing powers, but when I think about it, I learned a lot more about friendship, and helping people, and sharing adventures, both good and bad.  It’s been an amazing time, I’ve made TONS of great friends, and I’ve had more fun than I ever knew a furry orange monster COULD have playing video games – and there’s lots more to come!!! (In case that sounded like an ‘I’m leaving the game’ speech – it wasn’t!!)

So here we are – this video is the culmination of literally a year and a half of playing Wizard 101 and is the ‘end’ of Dragonspyre, pre-Malistaire battle.  This video ends with me literally standing on Malistaire’s front doorstep, getting ready to knock.  Through those doors is the final battle of the original storyline, and you can probably see the excitement on my face as I take flight on that young dragon and fly over rivers of lava to the forbidding ‘Dragon’s Roost’…

I’m still making plans for doing my first Malistaire run – I will post about it at least a day before it happens, and I’ll definitely want some help – I’m very excited!!  Until then, always play safe, I’ll see you in The Spiral!
