A clarification on Ditto’s contests and winners
First, congratulations to all my November winners! In the month of November I gave away nearly 50 prizes, the most ever, and I had a LOT of fun doing it! I love doing contests, and I’m very thankful to KingsIsle for getting me so many codes to give away to my readers and fans!
Based on feedback I got after contests this month, though, I wanted to clarify something. All my contests (Except Twitter contests) require an email entry, and all winners are chosen by their email address, because it’s unique. However, I announce winners by their Wizard or Pirate name, because for privacy and safety reasons I won’t release email addresses. Of course in Wizard101 and Pirate101, you can have multiple players with the same name, especially if it’s a popular name like ‘Luke Skywalker’ or ‘Taylor Swift’ – I’ve even met another ‘Digby Hexcrafter’ in Wizard City. So there’s definitely a chance I could announce your game name, but not be referring to you specifically.
When I choose contest winners, I always alert them via email and send them their codes first, then announce the winners by their game name, either on Twitter or posted here on my website. If you see your game name, check your email (and your spam filter, just in case) and if you don’t see an email from me, you can definitely email me – from the email you entered the contest with – and ask me to check. I keep a record of every winner’s email and game name, so it’s simple for me to verify (I won’t tell you the email of the winner, but I can confirm if your email was the winner or not.)
Thanks to everyone who entered all my contests, I love doing them and appreciate your support and good sportsmanship!
