Ditto’s New Spell – Part 2, the battle with Sothmekhet

Ditto has faced a lot of big battles in Wizard101, and there have been a few he wasn’t quite prepared for. This batted is one of the biggest and the one I was most unprepared for. It was also over 30 minutes long, so I couldn’t post the whole thing – what you see here is an edited 7ish minutes of the beginning and end of the battle. Everything in the middle is pretty similar – buff up, hit Sothmekhet with a fire dragon or helephant, and be disappointed at the overall result.

Ditto’s Battle with Sothmehket

My first problem here was that I assumed a boss in Krokotopia would be a ‘Krokotopian’ boss – something along the same level of difficulty as the rest of Krokotopia. I wasn’t worried at all taking him on solo, since as far as I knew, there was nothing in Krokotopia that could stand up to my awesomeness. Then I got into the battle and saw that he was rank 10 and had 15,000 health. Yes – that’s bigger than Malistaire!

I was playing very early and didn’t see any of my friends online, and I knew that I wasn’t going to survive on my own, so I broke open the old piggy bank and hired some henchmen. I grabbed a life and a balance henchman first, and then six minutes into the battle I realized there was no way I would be able to do enough damage myself, so I hired a storm henchman as well. It was costly, but worth it – my team of hired guns and I were able to take out Sothmekhet and unlock the power of the Efreet!

Another crazy thing about old Sothmekhet is that he cheats like crazy – every time anyone casts a charm spell, like a fire blade or fire trap, he casts his own, usually curse, to up his damage against you. It was truly a crazy fight, and as I said, it took more than 30 minutes, the longest I’ve ever fought against a single boss. I’m just very glad I survived and didn’t get defeated in the last minutes and have to do it again!
