Ditto the Monster looks at the world of family friendly online games from a Fabricated American perspective

The Final Battle – Ditto Faces Malistaire!!

After working our way through The Great Spire and facing countless foes (Well, they weren’t that tough to count, but they were really hard to defeat!) we finally face Malistaire himself, and it was awesome!!

Malistaire’s brother, Professor Cyrus Drake, shows up with the spirit of Malistaire’s wife, Sylvia!  They try to talk him out of his mad scheme, but he won’t here of it, banishing them both with a wave of his hand!  It’s all up to us then, so with Fallon, James Lifecaller, and Elijah Lightthief at my side, we head in to face the dreaded master of dark magic and stop him from summoning the monstrous Dragon Titan.

The fight was all I expected, with one noted exception – the first spell Malistaire used was… a dark pixie?  Seriously?  How sad is that – it’s like going to see your very favorite band in the whole world in some huge concert, and they open up with ‘Row, row, row your boat’ or something…  Just unexpected.  He did live up to expectations, to be clear – he was bad and mean and evil – but just seeing him throw a dark pixie out at us first turn was odd.  Maybe he did it to keep us off guard, to start underestimating him…  Yeah, that must be it!!

Tune in tomorrow for the epilogue and my thoughts on the whole thing, and don’t forget to tune into a VERY special Ravenwood Radio LIVE tonight for the 50th episode extravaganza, where I’ll be on the air live with many others from the Ravenwood crew!!
