Ditto the Monster looks at the world of family friendly online games from a Fabricated American perspective

Captain Ditto decends into the Scaly Warren in Pirate101. Blaughust Day 2

So Captain Ditto is back with his excellent crew, ready for some thrilling heroics!  Of course there was an added challenge of playing this live on my TwitchTV channel, and I was recording it as well, just to see how that all worked and if people liked the new format.  So check out some fun questing and please feel free to let me know how you like it and what I can improve…

A few things I noticed right away and things that I know I need to fix:

  • The sound is all wrong – I think my game volume is too high and my microphone volume is too low.  I think I’ll have to experiment with that a bit more.
  • The picture quality seems good – I’m actually happier with that than I thought I would be.  What does everyone else think?
  • My face up in the corner works pretty well – it might be a little too big, I’m not sure how to change that, but there’s usually not much going on up in that upper right corner (In Pirate101 at least), so I think you get a good view of the game, and still see me (and I’m so very cute and fuzzy!)
  • There are a bunch of delays because I have a second screen going that’s streaming the feed, because I’m still getting used to it and I guess I don’t totally trust that it’s doing what I think it’s supposed to do.  Those should disappear as I get used to streaming live.

Anything else?  What do people think?  Is this format preferable to the old ‘over the shoulder’ video camera style?  I can say it’s much easier to get set up, and it feels much more natural to play this way.  I want to hear what the fans think though – maybe there was something in the old videos that people preferred?
