Pet Pavillion!!!

So I’ve been playing with the new pets system on the test world. Overall I love it, the derby is lots of fun and I like the pet systems. The mini games seem a little weak to me – the ‘dancing pets’ game is simple but amusing, the ‘falling food’ game is neither simple nor amusing, it’s just confusing.

Madame Jasmine is having a blast. I’ve been trying different snacks with her and I’ve done a few races in the derby, I’ve even won a couple. I haven’t taken any video, but it’s on my to-do list. Even if this were the only thing coming out with Celestia, I think I’d be excited, but the best part is that this is just the first taste of things to come. I’m certainly looking forward to lots more!!

For people who want more detailed info, I’ve been going to Diary of a Wizard most of the day, they’ve been posting great updates based on their test server experiences and they’ve already got some guides up, so check them out!

Ditto versus the Ice Spiders…

Here it is, my epic (10+ minute) battle against two ice spiders in Spirit Crusher’s Tomb. Many fire shields and no fire elf cards made for a really long fight, but I was victorious in the end!! It does teach me that I need to work on my treasure cards more and that I need a good shield breaker, as my staff (Ascendant Staff) casts balance, not fire….

Fighting the Good Fight

So I just fought what seemed like the longest fight of my Wizard 101 life, and not against a boss, but against two silly Ice Crawlers, little ice school spiders. Why did it take so long? The did nothing but throw up fire shields, and I wasn’t getting any fire elves! I have a video of it, but I need to edit it before I post because YouTube has a 10 minute limit, and this fight went longer than that! After that and then the boss fight against Pike Soulcrusher after it, I think I need a nap….

Ditto’s vBlog of the week

Hey folks, time for another Ditto’s Video Blog, where I talk about Mr. Krabs in Celestia, general Krokotopia fun, and ask about what other videos you want to see… Hope you enjoy!

Sightseeing in Krokotopia

I must say, after spending so much time in Wizard City, with it’s winding streets lined with buildings, Krokotopia is completely different and amazing in so many ways. You can really feel the age of the place, the history of the ancient Krok and Mander races tied up in those ancient monuments and tombs.

The Library in Krokotopia

Digby and Madame Jasmine visit the Library in Krokotopia.

Madame Jasmine and I headed for the library – being a student I do still focus on my magical education, and these ancient Kroks obviously had access to some pretty serious magic. Make the Helephant look like a Bichon Frise by comparison, I’m sure.

A mysterious portal in Krokotopia.

What is this portal and where could it lead?

After the Library, while talking with the Mander Hetch Al’Dim, an amazing and somewhat scary portal opened up, a huge sphinx head emerging from the earth as lightning shot around. Madam Jasmine was scared (OK, Ditto was a little scared too!) but Hetch told us not to worry and that, some day soon, we, too, would be passing through that terrifying portal to a place that many braver souls than we had dared not enter…

The Great Pyramid in Krokotopia

Digby and Madame JAsmine pose for a tourist shot

One of the most amazing structures in Krokotopia – aside from the legendary Krokopshinx – is the Great Pyramid. Madame Jasmine and I took the typical tourist shots here, but I must say I was truly impressed and amazed by the sheer scale of the pyramid, and only became more impressed and awe-struck when we got inside. These ancient Krokotopians were amazing, truly brilliant and talented artisans. It’s sad that sand-filled tombs and ghosts is all that remains of this one proud people.

Digby and MAdame Jasmine in the Great Pyramid

Fire School money shot...

Of course the great pyramid is still full of powerful Fire Magic, as any Pyromancer can tell as soon as they set foot in the amazing entrance hall. After talking with Professor Winthrop about the unfortunate goings-on there in the tomb and Krokotopia as a whole, Madame Jasmine and I took some typical Fire School tourist shots to share with our teacher, Professor Falmea.

I feel that I will be exploring Krokotopia for quite a long time, as the place is huge and, sadly, there is much trouble here, stirred up by the evil Malistaire. I’m still a young student, only just having reached level 16, but thanks to my lessons with professor Falmea I am proving to be a formidable opponent to all but the most dangerous of the foes I face here in the dusty tombs. I look forward to more exploration and discovery!
